College Life

I like having all the classes it makes me feel like I have responsibility but I don't like having to balance it with my job. It gets stressful. I like having all the freedom I get but when you miss something, there's basically no chance in you getting to make up the assignment. Also there's no late work also. I plan to find some time between work and school to sit back and relax and I will need to attend almost all the classes unless there's an absolute reason for me not being able to.

Fragile X

Fragile X is a form of a mental disorder and is the most common inherited disorder. This syndrome is a genetic condition that takes place in the X chromosomes (female) and is recessive. Fragile X appears more often in a male than a female. Fragile X was discovered by J. Purdon Martin and Julia Bell because they had eleven severely mentally challenged males. Some symptoms of Fragile X are delay in learning how to walk/crawl and talk. They may have the tendency to bite or clap their hands, they are hyperactive, mentally challenged, and avoid eye contact. That's just the behavioral though. Some physical symptoms are flat feet, large body size, long face, soft skin, and double-jointed. This syndrome is caused by the lack of fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP). A foundation that supports this specific syndrome is the National Fragile X Foundation and their website is http://www.nfxf.org/. A baby can have a large head circumference and tests can be done then. A test can be ran on both female and males to see if they have Fragile X (carrier or if they really have it). There is not a cure yet but there is treatment. Genetic counseling can help a family who has a history of Fragile X. Genetic testing can help to see how much a family is at risk and at how severe the family for Fragile X by reviewing their family history. People are running clinical trials now to help find some way to cure Fragile X.
